Name :Grant Soller Age : 28 Occupation : Currency sales consultant Club(s) : L.M.R.C.A (Altrincham), Riddings, Nursery and Wilmslow RBL. Bowls you use : 2'12 Drakes Pride (with bright green stickers at the mo) Best game you've ever played : Probably when i beat Dave Higginbotham 21-4 for Cheshire when we played Lancashire at the Union Club a couple of years back. Best player(s) you've ever beaten : G.I., Cooky, Chris Morrison. Your best bowling quality : Managing to hit a length when bowling to my opponents jack. Your worst bowling weakness : My temperament is sometimes a bit questionable, i've been known to kick my bowls around a bit. Best bowling achievement : Winning the Cheshire merit, winning the Crossfield Cup 3 times and winning personally in all 3. Winning the Victoria Open, can't choose they were all very enjoyable. Biggest bowling disappointment : Joining the Nursery the year after they won the Brunner Cup and not having got to the final since. One rule you'd introduce/change : Less rules, allow stamping, allow people on the green to make a decision of who's on, basically reduce referees to measurers. Favourite green : I never lost on Turton, but i'd probably choose Sale XL (generally do o.k. there) Most dreaded other green : Probably Garswood Hall even though i've won on my last 2 visits. Ambition : Win the Brunner Cup as a team ambition, individually to win the Waterloo. Funniest bowling moment : Nursery v Victoria (about 4 years ago) Nursery need a good result at the Vic, there's a great atmosphere around the green, Andy McGuigan is getting really inolved in shouting on one side of the green so much so he's stepped back shouting "MISS ALL" and fell right over the back of a bench. (you had to be there i guess but trust me it was funny) Best piece of advice you could give : Have confidence in your ability and concentrate at all times.
